What I Love About Me

"The wise know the value of friendship, and that it is wisdom to be a friend to oneself too." -A.C. Grayling

Welcome to Week 6 of "What I Love About Me!" hosted by Twins Plus One, Three Times the Fun and Twingle Mommy!

Here's how it works -
Write a post about what you love about yourself this week and then add it to the linky list below. This is intended to be a time and place for each of us to stop criticizing ourselves for a few minutes and actually remind ourselves of the characteristics we are proud to own. So go ahead, look in the mirror, and see yourself through your loved one's eyes. Notice the beauty first. Here's your place to shine!

A few simple guidelines -

Please follow the two hostesses. If you are a new follower, please comment so we can follow you too! :)

We'd love it if you posted the button and the linky list, but it is not mandatory. The button code is on my left sidebar.

Feel free to link to your homepage or your specific "What I Love About Me!" post. We want this to be a fun, relaxing hop so we'll accept all links as long as they are family-friendly. Thanks!

The linky will be open all week so feel free to link-up on your own time!

If you think something, it’s only a dream
If you write it down, you make it possible
If you schedule it, you make it probable
If you take action, you make it reality

This week I love that I get things done.

Not always perfectly. Not always neatly. Not always early. Not always without help. Not always easily. But somehow just in time.

Specifically, this weekend we hosted a barbeque and couple’s shower for my little brother and his fiancĂ©e.

By the time the party arrived, my obsessive list making had paid off. The house was cleaned, yard mowed, driveway edged, tents set up, centerpieces made, food ordered and delivered, desserts chilled, and sangria fermented.

Over the past month, I have planned, coordinated, and/or packed for first birthday parties, out of town trips, Marty’s birthday, our 4th of July day at the lake, first birthday pictures, a baby shower.

At times, I must admit I was close to pulling my hair out, especially with two babies who have a knack for destroying in minutes what it took me hours to clean. One meal time and it’s time to mop again. For every squirt of Windex, four hands are ready to leave their mark. For every cabinet closed or toy put away, two more take their place…

But, it all came together. Just in time.

Congratulations to the beautiful couple, Jay and Marisa. Looking forward to adding a new sister to the family in August!
