Join ME! for a Giveaway

Each week for the past 26 weeks, dollimama at Life Not Finished has been hosting the 52 Weeks of ME! Challenge—a much-needed call to moms everywhere to share how they are carving out time for themselves.

To celebrate the half-way mark, dollimama, Andrea of The Mays Twins and Mandy of Twin Trials and Triumphs are hosting a link-up giveaway. Be sure to visit each of these fabulous ladies to join their giveaways and be inspired by their commitment.

Admittedly, I have not been a regular contributor to the ME! Challenge. If you’ve seen me lately, you know I have let ME go. The last time I had a haircut, I took the babies with me. Picture me trying to entertain 12 month old twins while getting layers. My brows are in desperate need of a wax, and if I don’t get a pedicure soon, I’ll have to start wearing socks in the summer. Obviously, I don't want much since I have counted cleaning and breathing as ME! time activities.

Clearly, I need to get out more. I need more ME time.

One thing I have done pretty regularly, though, is follow the ME! Challenge and the great bloggers who participate. Each week, I enjoy living vicariously through their experiences. I love how they each remind me that pampering ourselves can look so many different ways. Sometimes the biggest indulgence is to just celebrate the little things we would ordinarily take for granted.

They inspire me to find time to do something for myself, even if it is small. Even if I don’t get to blog about it.

So in addition to cleaning and breathing, I have enjoyed (big and small) treats: a fresh salad from Whole Foods, raspberry lemonade from Starbucks, a DQ strawberry milkshake, a mid-afternoon nap, dinner with a friend, a margarita on a Tuesday night, a pedicure, new summer dresses, a walk around the neighborhood, quiet time on the back porch, roller coasters on a Wednesday, a jar of lavender body scrub, late nights reading the latest Sookie Stackhouse book…

Ahhh, reading. Now that is a ME! activity that I LOVE!

To celebrate the "Halfway There" mark of the 52 Weeks of ME! Challenge and to encourage other moms to spend some time with a good book, I am going to offer a $15 Barnes and Noble gift card.

To enter, just leave a comment sharing a book you've been wanting to read OR what you like to do with your ME! time.

For a second entry, follow MaMe Musings and leave a second comment.

Enter now through midnight on July 7. I will draw a winner using random.org on July 8.

Oh, I'm so glad you're participating! I think I'll join in with a giveaway of my own tomorrow.

Anyway, what I love to do most with my ME time (on the rare occasions that I can afford it) is to go to the SPA!

And I'm a follower of yours, of course. :)

I laughed out loud when you said you counted cleaning and breathing as ME! time...hahaha!!! It's the simple things, right?! :)

My favorite ME time also involves a book...really - these days - most anywhere. Either reading a few pages while the girls are napping (and I "should" be doing something else), or in bed at night (on the rare occasions when Husband will tolerate the lamp for a few minutes), or especially at the coffee shop or cafe - ALONE! I would make some kinda good use out of that gift card! :)

Thanks for the opportunity, and thanks for linking up!

Oh, there are soooo many books that I want to read. I read a review of The Untold Story recently and that sounds interesting so I might pick that one up!

Reading is exactly what I want to do with my me time! I think I'd like to read "The Help" next.

There are so, so, so many books I want to read.

Think: Strait Talk For Women to Stay Smart in a Dumbed-Down World by Lisa Bloom. Is the next book on my list.

HAHAHA at your comment that cleaning and such would be your me-time.

But I am so with you on naps and reading... HEAVEN.

RIght now I need to finish 123 magic *ahem* but maybe I should put that aside for the weekend and read some chick lit - there's a cathy kelly in my stash. I LOVE Irish books :)

I am not sure what ME time exactly is, but I do know it would not be cleaning! EVER! And I wish I could say reading would be enjoyable for me. I love your list though. Having ME time is something I really struggle with. And with homeschooling the boys I find it really hard to have ME time. Don't enter me in the give away....someone who enjoys reading deserves it.

One of my favorite ME things to do is to sit in my quiet house, before all the kidlets get up, and have a cup of my very own blended brew of chocolate coffee and read my Nook. Bliss!!!
